Multi-Time WWE Women’s Champion Goes Public With Positive Thoughts On Vince McMahon

John Cena made it clear that he still has an emotional connection with Vince McMahon, despite his legal troubles. After the 17-time WWE Champion, former women’s champion Carmella is the latest to speak highly of the WWE founder and former CEO.

In an interview with Zack Heydorn of Sports Illustrated, the former WWE superstar had a lot of praise for Vince McMahon’s working style.

“I loved working with Vince, I really did. All of that, everything, the noise that has happened, that aside, my personal experience with Vince was nothing but positive. He was always so open to anything that I would have to suggest or if I had questions or concerns. I could always go to him, and he would always make time for the talent.”

Carmella

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion had been absent from WWE due to her real-life pregnancy and injury from its complications. As Carmella was preparing to make her return, WWE chose not to renew her contract and released her in February 2025. Bringing her decade-long tenure to an end.

Vince McMahon cut all ties with WWE and its parent company, TKO Group Holdings, last year. He resigned from the company in 2024 after former WWE employee Janel Grant slapped him with sexual misconduct allegations. McMahon sold all of his TKO stock and exited the company, and is currently under federal investigation regarding the case.
