This week’s episode of WWE NXT profiled some of the company’s NIL program participants or those who took part in tryouts during the 2023 SummerSlam event this past August. One of those individuals shown also happens to be a superstar’s boyfriend. Details on this story, below.
RAW Superstar’s Boyfriend Starting With WWE
The X/Twitter account user @lexveraux recently tweeted a post, highlight some of the new signees (both in NIL and 2023 SummerSlam tryouts) in the ChaseU section during the NXT show. These include Ajiea Lee Hargrave, Derrian Gobourne (NIL), Peyton Prussin (NIL), Josh Black, and Destinee Brown.
The X/Twitter account also pointed out Anthony Luke in the tweet. He happens to be the boyfriend of current talent on RAW, Maxxine Dupri.
The group was also joined by Breanna Covington (who made her in-ring debut in August), Olena Sadovska, and Emma Maria Diaz. Here’s hoping they all enjoy a bright future with the company.
WWE’s Maxxine Dupri – Wrestling History
At the age of 26, Maxxine has a bright future with the company. Prior to wrestling, she was a cheerleader for the LA Rams and a dancer for the Phoenix Suns.
She dove into the business in August 2021 when she went to a tryout in Las Vegas. That earned her a contract with the company.
Dupris started off in NXT as a valet to Von Wagner and Robert Stone, performing as “Sofia Cromwell”, in 2022. In July of that year, she made her main roster debut on Friday Night SmackDown as Maxxine Dupri, playing the “sister” of Max Dupris.
At first, she managed Mace and Mansoor, under the Maximum Models stable. The trio would move to Monday Night RAW, but Creative didn’t do much with the faction.
She eventually left this group and joined the Alpha Academy with Otis and Chad Gable. The move also turned her from heel to babyface.
As of late, Maxxine has dabbled with in-ring action, too, performing in a mixed tag match as well as a singles bout this past summer. The sky’s the limit for her, so it’ll be interesting to see what she (and possibly her boyfriend) do next.
