It’s been an insane few days in the land of the WWE. Last week, the company released Kevin Patrick, who was the lead announcer on SmackDown. Now a report that reveals what the Blue brand’s new broadcasting team will look like. More on this, below
WWE SmackDown’s New Announce Team
It was revealed during the January 29th edition of Monday Night RAW that Michael Cole and Pat McAfee are the official new team calling all the action on the Red brand moving forward. Be sure to update yourself on everything that’s gone down on Monday nights by checking out our RAW Recap results from the past year.
Moving forward, McAfee will replace Wade Barrett on RAW. As per a PWInsider’s report, Wade will be transferred to SmackDown to work with Corey Graves.
According to the report, Graves will be the lead for the show, while Barrett will be a color commentator. Looks like the WWE has a solid announce team for both shows now.
WWE New Announcing Teams – An Old & New Dynamic
This isn’t the first time McAfee and Cole have worked together to call a program. Both appeared on SmackDown together between 2021 and 2021.
It’s also no secret that Michael loves working with Pat. Anyone who’s seen his reaction to McAfee returning to the WWE, both at the Royal Rumble in 2023 and this year’s event, knows how much he loves calling the action with Pat.
Cole has also noted in a past interview that working alongside McAfee reignites his love for this business. Meanwhile, this is the first time Graves and Barrett will work at the announce table together.
Wade worked as a color commentator with Michael Cole and Kevin Patrick in the past. It’ll be interesting to see the dynamic he has with Corey Graves.
