WWE is having an interesting year so far in 2023, with their TKO Holdings acquisition finally completed. Still, 2024 might be even more interesting as a number of top stars have their deals expiring, including Sheamus.
Sheamus Among WWE Stars Who Have Contracts Ending In 2024
As per a Fightful Select report, Sheamus is one of many stars in the company whose deals will expire in 2024. The Celtic Warrior’s contract is probably ending during the first half or quarter of next year.
He’s a former World Champion, but he’s not the only titleholder on this list, as Becky Lynch and Drew McIntyre also have deals ending early next year. The report reveals that the star is one of many who signed a five-year contract in 2019.
This was during a time when the company went on a contract extension “frenzy” upon All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) debut. Various other talents also have agreements expiring in late 2024.
The report notes that The Celtic Warrior, along with McIntyre and Lynch may have “caveats” in their deals that could see their contracts extended. The company is infamous for adding time on deals to make up for missed days due to injury.
Still, the talent has been a prominent figure on television as of late. He currently had a major feud with GUNTHER in early 2023 and got the distinction of (possibly) being Edge’s final opponent in the company – potentially in his career.
Is A WWE Legend Training For A Return?
The two had a match together on the August 18th edition of Friday Night SmackDown. This was said to be Edge’s last match on his existing contract.
Sheamus has been with the company since 2006. He’s “done it all” over the years as a four-time top-tier Champion, United States Champion (3 times), as well as a five-time tag title holder, 2010 King of the Ring, 2015 Mr. Money in the Bank, and the 2012 Royal Rumble winner.
