AAA Mega Champion El Hijo Vikingo’s high-flying moves continue to dazzle fans; however, as his schedule has increased this year, and he hasn’t downplayed any moves, he’s also struggled with injury. As per a report, after a Ring of Honor (ROH) event this past weekend, he could, once again be on the shelf with a major injury.
Vikingo Injured, Leaving ROH Tapings In Wheelchair
As per Wrestling Observer Radio, Vikingo took a dive during a tag match where he partnered up with Metalik and Gravity to go against Tony Nese, Serpentico, and Angelico. He landed on his hip after the dive.
The landing was hard enough to cause concern that he broke his hip. He wound up in a wheelchair before the night ended.
Superstar Continues To Quietly Impress
While everyone is hoping he simply suffered a deep bruise, there’s a chance that he’s now dealing with a fracture. It’s probable that Vikingo will miss a tremendous amount of time in the ring for recovery.
While there’s never a good time to get injured, this is not ideal for the wrestling star. As AAA Mega Champion, he was set to defend his title this coming Saturday.
A match has been set between him and Komander at an AAA event in Mexico City. He was also announced for the upcoming GCW tour in Japan next month.
In addition, DEFY Wrestling recently announced that the star would take on AEW’s Swerve Strickland at their next PRIMOLUCHA event taking place on Friday, October 13th. Unfortunately, while his high-flying moves are an incredible watch, they also are incredibly risky, leaving him vulnerable to injury.
On behalf of everyone here at WNZ, we wish him a speedy recovery. Here’s hoping he can re-enter the squared circle for action, very soon.
