WWE Icon Hulk Hogan Is Looking To Buy Hooters? Sort of

WWE and professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan is reportedly looking to purchase his way into a surprising tag team with Hooters, a few weeks after the company filed for bankruptcy.

Hulk Hogan’s brand in pro wrestling and pop culture has remained strong for decades despite his ugly public missteps. While “The Immortal” one was nearly boo’d out of the building at WWE Raw’s debut on Netflix, his Real American Beer brand continues to grow. And it seems the beer company Hogan helped co-found is looking to make a major acquisition soon.

This week, TMZ Sports broke the news that “the WWE legend and his company want to acquire the Hooters intellectual property as part of a mission to take over existing brands that represent what America is all about — ‘freedom, grit and good times’ — and bring them back to relevance.”

In March, the popular restaurant chain known for its chicken wings and female servers filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection following more disappointing revenue numbers. Hooters isn’t planning to disappear and hopes to exit bankruptcy “approximately 90-120 days,” according to CNN.

“The company plans to sell all of its 100 company-owned restaurants to two franchisee groups that operate Hooters locations in the Tampa, Florida, and Chicago areas,” a press release revealed in April. “The combined group collectively operates a third of the US franchised-owned locations.”

Hulk Hogan and Real American Beer could play a big role in revitalizing the brand. And the company’s beer products being featured in Hooters restaurants would also go a long way in expanding its brand recognition nationally.
