Hulk Hogan had a legendary career in professional wrestling. However, his latest story about Brock Lesnar has been called fake news.
The Hulkster and the Beast Incarnate stepped inside the ring once in their career on an episode of SmackDown in 2002. The duo did not come face to face with each other again until after Lesnar dominated the world of mixed martial arts in the UFC.
The former WWE Champion put together a memorable career inside the Octagon, including winning the UFC heavyweight title. However, he was forced to retire from active competition in the late 2000s. Due to the effects of a previous battle with diverticulitis. But Hulk Hogan claimed in a recent interview with TMZ Sports that right after Lesnar left MMA, the pair clashed in a match.
“I’ve been in the ring with some really crazy wrestlers. Like, I got Brock Lesnar right after he left the UFC. I got in first,” said Hogan.
Hogan’s comments do not match the facts. As it was seen, Lesnar’s last fight in the UFC was against Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 on December 30, 2011. He retired from competition following the bout. A few months later, the Beast returned to WWE in 2012 on RAW after WrestleMania 28.
Moreover, Hogan and Lesnar crossed paths again, but it was not for a wrestling match. In 2014, Hogan had a birthday celebration on Monday Night RAW. Brock Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman, crashed the festivities with the former UFC Champion saying, “Party’s over, Grandpa.” The comment gained huge criticism from the fans and was a highly publicized segment in the history of the red brand.
Hulk Hogan last appeared on the RAW on Netflix debut show in January 2025, where he was heavily booed. On the other hand, Brock Lesnar has been off WWE television since SummerSlam 2023. His name was linked to the controversial Vince McMahon—Janel Grant sexual misconduct lawsuit, and there are no signs of him returning soon.
