News last week did not look good, and now it has been confirmed : Charlotte Flair is expected to miss most of 2024.
WWE has confirmed, and others have reported that the former champion is expected to miss upwards of 9 months.
Now, we have not yet heard the exact nature of the injury. However, based on reports from last weekend, immediately following her last match, it was said to be a knee injury.
Some earlier reports suspected it was a head related thing, but that is not the case.
Unfortunately, this time away derails any plans WWE might have had for the top female talent.

I am not a doctor, just someone who has followed sports for a few decades.
A nine month window generally sounds like an ACL or similar tear that required surgery and rehab.
Whatever it is, it does not really matter that much, does it?
What does matter is that WWE will be without one of it’s top Superstars for the vast majority of the next year.
Just like that, Flair is gone from the Royal Rumble.
No more shot at a big WrestleMania moment.
The best case scenario at this point might be an early return at SummerSlam in 2024…but even that seems like a big ask.
While there is never really a “good” time for any Superstar to get injured, the company might have caught a bit of a break.
The women’s division is otherwise pretty healthy. Some should be back soon to help, if they can stay out of trouble.
And, if WWE was on the fence about bringing an old friend back, having Flair on the sidelines due to injury might just push Triple H to ensure that Sasha Banks comes back home.
I suppose it could be said that having it happen in December, rather than late January or even say, between the Rumble and WrestleMania, is probably a blessing.
Any plans for the biggest show of the year are just that-plans. Nothing had been made official, so while there will be changes, it should be a lot smoother to handle.
