As seen on last night’s RAW, Trish Stratus had a major heel turn against “The Man” Becky Lynch. What are the plans for this feud moving forward? Plus, there’s an update on Eric Young’s status with the WWE.
WWE Plans For Becky Lynch Vs. Trish Stratus
WWE Hall of Famer and fan favorite Trish Stratus turned on Becky Lynch during the April 10th edition of Monday Night RAW. After losing the WWE Women’s Tag Titles, Stratus laid a Chick Kick on The Man.
Trish Stratus was subbing in for bestie Lita, who had been mysteriously attacked moments before she was set for the title bout. Interestingly enough, Stratus was the one who was pinned, resulting in the team’s title loss.

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus lost the titles to Liv Morgan and Rachel Rodriguez. Morgan got the three-count on Stratus.
Becky Lynch Vs. Trish Stratus Will Happen At 2023 WWE SummerSlam Event
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio chimed in on the heel turn and new program. A buzz around a Trish Stratus heel turn began around March, and many assumed it would take place at WrestleMania 39.
However, it took an entire week after WM 39 for the storyline to unravel. With that said, Meltzer does note that the WWE is planning on going with their original plan that would see Becky Lynch face off against Trish Stratus at SummerSlam.
This is quite the development since SummerSlam is literally four months away. The good news is that it’ll be given a good amount of time for building up the big match.
The last time Trish Stratus was in a singles bout was the 2019 SummerSlam event and she went up against Charlotte Flair. It’ll be interesting to see how she fairs against The Man, four years later.
Speaking of WWE news, reports are circulating about a former star’s status with the company. More on this, below.
Eric Young Update
At the age of 43, Eric Young is a veteran of this business. He not only has worked the indies over the years, but he’s also been on Impact, NXT, and the main roster of the WWE.
Last November, Triple H was on a re-hiring spree for many talents that had left the company due to budget cuts prior. According to reports, Young had re-signed with the WWE, at that point in time.
However, unlike other wrestlers who had new WWE contracts (Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, and Karrion Kross), Young never appeared on TV. There’s also been no word of him backstage at events.
As per a new report from Fightful, Eric does have a contract with the WWE. There’s no further information, so here’s hoping Young debuts on television, very soon.
Eric hasn’t competed inside a WWE squared circle since September 2020. His last wrestling match took place in Impact, in November 2022.
In fact, Young was last seen on Impact TV in December of last year. This was when Deaner “stabbed” him to death, to be written out of storylines.
Eric Young’s History With Wrestling
After his WWE release and upon his return to Impact in 2020, Eric won the World Championship, making him a two-time titleholder of this belt. In 2014, he hit the 19th spot in PWI 500 top 500 single wrestlers in the industry.
According to reports, Impact was aware of Eric’s plan to return to the WWE as of October of last year. Young originally signed with the WWE in 2016.
He led the SAnitY faction in NXT and then on the main roster on SmackDown until he was released. During his time with the WWE, he was a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Alexander Wolfe.
