In the near future, Bryan Danielson will need neck surgery as he is in tremendous pain; and, it could end his in-ring career.

After a short hiatus, Bryan Danielson returned to AEW to align with FTR and Eddie Kingston against The Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson). Quickly, an injury to Kingston caused Darby Allin to comeback early as his replacement. Going into the Anarchy in the Arena Match, Danielson is in bad shape. He has several injuries, but neck problems seems like the most serious. He noted in an AEW exclusive interview, how he requires major neck surgery.
Danielson went over landing the wrong way during his Dynasty match with Will Ospreay. The match concluded with AEW running an angle where Bryan seemed to be legitimately injured. “I hurt my neck real bad,” said Danielson. “Then I’m wrestling Will Ospreay. I go to give him a frankensteiner off the top rope. I’ve never had this happen to me. Dude lands right on his feet. I go straight down on my head, and then later in the match, right before he pins me, he hits me with a storm driver.”
Tons Of Nerve Damage
“I got shooting pains down my arm,” said Danielson. “I have a compression of the nerve root at C6, C7, and C7, T1. I’ve got this shooting pain that’s running down my arm that won’t go away. The doctor is telling me that pretty soon I’m going to have to have surgery. The only way I can hold out, the only way that I can hold out is if I can keep the strength in my right hand. Right now it’s still there. I have the shooting pain, but I’ve still got the strength.”
With a history of a bad neck, Danielson needs to very careful. Already once, he would not be cleared by doctors. He has been honest, telling people he will likely retire very soon. He seems interested in calling it a career before the year ends and August’s All In from England might be the ideal spot. So, will Bryan Danielson and his wrestling run conclude after neck surgery?
