According to a report, AEW fans should expect some big changes on the horizon for the promotion’s Women’s division.
Change Is Coming To AEW & Their Women’s Division
Currently, the AEW Women’s Champion is Jamie Hayter and Jade Cargill holds the TBS title. Both belts will be defended at this Sunday’s Double or Nothing event.
Hayter will face off against Toni Storms, while Taya Valkyrie will challenge Jade. As per a report, there’s a good chance one or both of these titles will change hands.
As per Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Jamie is injured currently. No details were offered about the severity of Hayter’s injury or a timeline on how long she’ll be out of action.
Still, Sapp teased that the “winds of change” could be headed to the promotion and their Women’s division. In fact, he believes there will be “major” changes.
He also notes it’ll look “categorically” different over the next five days. What exactly does that mean?
Hayter won the title in November of last year. She beat Toni Storms for the Championship at the Full Gear event.
With that being said, even if Hayter loses her title and Storms becomes the new champion, would that make the division “categorically” different? Would that still qualify if Jade Cargill loses her title, too?
It’ll be interesting to see how the next five days unravel and if titles changing hands is what Sapp was referring to. Only time will tell.
Over the past year, this division has transformed considerably. It’s grown with talents like Lady Frost, Sky Blue, Willow Nightingale, Taya Valkyrie, and of course, Saraya.
Thunder Rosa has returned, too. However, she’s not back in action yet.
How much will the division change after this Sunday’s event? Fans will have to wait and see.
