The WWE recently revealed an international venue for the 2024 WWE Backlash premium live event (PLE) and WNZ has all the details, below!
2024 WWE Backlash PLE Is Taking Place In …
The Backlash event is taking place on Saturday, May 4 of next year. The company has confirmed it will be held in Lyon-Decines, France at the LDLC Arena.
It’s the first time a WWE PLE has ever been held in France. In addition, SmackDown will also take place in the LDLD Arena, the night prior to the big event.
This also marks another first for the company, as it will be the first time the Blue brand show has ever aired from France. The French crowd will surely be pumped on both nights.
The news comes off the cusp of the announcement that Germany will host its first PLE from the company, in August of next year, called, Bash in Berlin. Should be a good one!
Triple H, Chief Content Officer for the brand recently tweeted that Backlash will be “another historic first” for the wrestling promotion. The company seems to have listened to international fans with an increased presence when it comes to events overseas in recent times.
So far, the wrestling organization has three PLEs that are confirmed for next year, taking place outside of the U.S., including the two events taking place in Germany and now France, as well as the Elimination Chamber being held on February 24th in Perth, Australia at the Optus Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Royal Rumble is being held in St. Peterburg, Florida at the Tropicana Field and WrestleMania 40 will be broadcast from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from the Lincoln Financial Field.
Will the company stay within American soil for the other PLEs taking place next year or continue to broaden their horizons? Only time will tell!
