WWE and TNA now having a working relationship, but Tony Khan decided to steal the spotlight by claiming he and AEW were first.

It is a new era in WWE as Triple H continues to handle most of the daily operations. Under new guidance, we have seen WWE doing something they have not done in the longest time. They decided to work with another promotion, with extra focus on TNA.
As a result, TNA wrestlers have been appearing on WWE shows. And, WWE even goes as far to acknowledge they work for TNA. The first person was Mickie James, who was part of the Royal Rumble 2022. She entered wearing the TNA Knockouts Championship, which was extra cool. At this year’s Royal Rumble, Jordynne Grace was an early entrant and looked great. Since then, Grace has returned to work a NXT Takeover card and WWE’s Tatum Paxley wrestled on a TNA pay per view.
AEW held a media call today for Forbidden Door. The event has become a staple for AEW as they work with NJPW, CMLL and STARDOM. During the media call, Tony Khan was asked about WWE and TNA working together. He indicated that AEW working with TNA earlier was the reason WWE is doing the same.
TNA And AEW Did Have Good Partnership
Yes, he is right that AEW and TNA had a deal a few years ago. It saw Kenny Omega win the TNA World Championship and then Christian Cage captured the gold and also began appearing for the promotion. It was great to see, but it does not appear AEW and TNA are working together anymore.
As for Khan’s remarks, it will not go-over well. I do think AEW and TNA being involved played a role for WWE. Basically, they have new leadership and Triple H sees the value in the promotions sharing talent. If anything, it helps the business. I do not see Khan being the reason why WWE would make such a drastic change. In fact, after looking at ratings, AEW should be considered about what they are doing. So, did Tony Khan actually play a role in TNA and WWE brokering a deal?
