With NXT Battleground set to go down this Sunday, there is no better time than now to make some bold predictions for the event inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
There is a solid amount of buzz heading into this weekend’s event. First, NXT Battleground 2024 will occur inside the UFC headquarters in Sin City. Bringing a fun crossover element between the two companies that fall under the TKO Group Holdings umbrella. Secondly, AEW veteran Ethan Page will make his promotional debut in a major matchup with top star and NXT champ Trick Williams.

However, the most buzzworthy element of the stacked card will be the NXT Women’s Title match that will see champion Roxanne Perez defend her title against TNA Knockouts queen Jordynne Grace. It is a rare forbidden door moment for WWE and more proof this truly is a new era for the company.
With all of that in mind, let’s make some predictions for the June 9 NXT Battleground card that will air exclusively on streaming service Peacock.
Will Ethan Page win the NXT title in his promotional debut?
Is Ethan Page going to become NXT Champion on Sunday? No. However, do not think this isn’t a litmus test to see if the former AEW talent can be the future face of the brand. Page has been presented like a big star, something that did not happen in AEW. The fact that he is getting such a high-profile matchup just weeks into his tenure says a lot.
Nevertheless, Trick Williams is the big dog on the NXT brand and is not going to see his title run end just yet so expect him to get the win on Sunday. However, this will likely not be the last title match between the two in NXT.
NXT Battleground sets up Jordynne Grace vs. Roxanne Perez rematch at Slammiversary
There is evidence this working relationship between WWE and TNA will not end at NXT Battleground. Grace popping up on the developmental brand’s airwaves has created added interest in both products and the relationship is expected to continue beyond this weekend. That might be a reason for Grace to surprise and beat Perez but don’t get your hopes up of that happening.
Look for Perez to score a hard-fought win over Grace. Then she will wait a few weeks and pop up on TNA content to set up a rematch — this time for the Knockouts title — at Slammiversary in July. At that event, Grace will get her revenge victory over the NXT star.

Lola Vice upsets NXT legend Shayna Baszler
Several NXT talents have huge potential and should go on to make a big impact on the main roster. One of those gifted prospects is MMA fighter turned NXT star Lola Vice. She has a major featured match against promotion legend Shayna Baszler on Sunday and the bout will be competed in underground rules. Which is perfect inside the UFC Apex.
If Baszler were to win it would not be a surprise. However, there is little for the company to gain in such a move. That is why Vice will score an upset win and continue to boost her resume ahead of a potential move to the main roster early next year.
Jaida Parker becomes first NXT Women’s North American champion
While there are some fascinating marquee matchups at NXT Battleground, the bout that is likely to steal the show is the six-way ladder match for the new North American Women’s Title. The match features many of the best prospects in the division and is a huge opportunity for them to make a lasting moment in the promotion.
While main roster veteran Michin will be the favorite, there is not a lot to gain from her winning. That is why Jaida Parker getting the W would be an interesting way to go. Similar to Vice, she is one of the best and brightest talents on the roster, and handing her the NA title would send a statement about her long-term potential in WWE.
