Not long ago, fans were behind Chad Gable in his quest to dethrone Gunther, then the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion. Gable failed in his attempt. He also was unable to get another shot during WrestleMania 40. That failure may have set him down a dark path. In spite of training Sami Zayn ahead of the title match in Philly (where WWE missed using the Art Museum steps). Gable parlayed his training of Zayn into another title shot. He got it on the April 15TH RAW, but again failed. Only this time, he turned heel. As much as we may have enjoyed face Gable, heel Gable could do a lot more, potentially.

New Era, New Gable

We’ve already heard that the Creed Brothers might join Gable as heels-though for now, he remains aligned with Alpha Academy. Now there is talk that the newly re-minted heel and former Olympian could have a major ally. That ally could be a fellow former Olympian and WWE Hall of Famer, none other than Kurt Angle. Angle himself said as much on one of his own recent podcasts. The 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist flat out said he’d love a chance to come back in and manage Gable to greatness.

We have not seen Kurt Angle on WWE television in quite some time. That said, while he may not get the same type of pop as say, The Rock or Steve Austin, he does pretty well with fans. Having Gable with a WWE Hall of Famer as the company looks to build up the leader of Alpha Academy more could be a gold mine. As much as I wanted to see a big title win for babyface Gable, heel Gable could go even further. Maybe even to the point where we start thinking of Chad Gable, WWE Hall of Famer?
