WWE kicked off the 2024 Draft on the April 26th, 2024 SmackDown. Some big names were seen heading to RAW or SmackDown. Names like Seth Rollins (staying on RAW) and Bron Breakker (heading to RAW). The blue brand’s first overall pick was none other than Bianca Belair. While we had a lot of picks moving on Friday during the broadcast, the draft did not end at 10PM eastern.

As we have seen in past drafts, WWE continued things going by announcing draft picks via social media after SmackDown. Some NXT talent got drafted live during the show, but one notable name found a new home after the show was off the air. The 2024 WWE draft brings Baron Corbin back to SmackDown. It marks a big return for the former Money In The Bank winner. At one point not that long ago, he was also one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions. His partner was Bron Breakker, and there was some thought given to bringing them to either show as a team.

But, as we can see now, that was not the case. Breakker heads to Mondays. Corbin goes back to Fridays. Per Fightful Select  WWE wanted to split them especially as they see big singles things for Bron. His time in NXT was well spent. Therefore, a gimmick change for Baron Corbin seems likely. In fact, at one point it was believed that he actually declined a return to the main roster because of his work in Florida. He got to stay and truly made the most of it (that tag title reign came after the possible return to RAW or SmackDown). Now, Corbin will finally return to SmackDown and hope for better luck than in the past. A lot has changed since we last saw him work Fridays, so things should be interesting.
