While it was shown off on Friday, I hoped this was a joke…but WWE and Logan Paul’s Prime Hydration did indeed ink a significant sponsorship deal.
United States Champion Logan Paul, co-founder of Prime, revealed the deal at the start of last week’s SmackDown.
His reveal certainly may not have won fans over. For the first time ever, there was a sponsor logo on the canvas of a WWE ring.
And it has been confirmed to be legitimate, with Prime Hydration getting the center spot of WWE rings beginning with WrestleMania and on future premium live events as well.
The deal made mainstream news, with sources like Variety carrying it. It’s one of the appeals of working with Paul that WWE has always loved.
This is the latest deal between the sports entertainment company and the social media megastar.
As abrasive and controversial as Paul can be, he has also proven to be a successful businessman.

I get the move. That does not mean I have to like the choice, but it is not my money.
For starters, branding in the ring and on the canvas of a WWE ring was inevitable.
Even if the company never got purchased by Endeavor, such branding rights would prove too lucrative.
WWE has long sought to maximize revenue streams, as we’ve seen with creatively branded matches and such.
Now, the company is taking a page right out of their sister company , UFC’s playbook.
Take a look at the Octagon canvas and corner pads and they are adorned with a litany of paid sponsorships.
Now, the center of WWE’s ring will be all for Prime…and surely other branding will follow.

Like it or not, the flip side of this is that branding means more money comes in, and as we’ve seen recently, the current leadership can put that money to good use.
Perhaps you dislike Prime as a business or Logan Paul as a person, but the business decision makes too much sense to not do.
