After so long, there is a growing chance Owen Hart can become an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame and it is because of one factor.
The world tragically lost Owen Hart at Over the Edge 1999. While being lowered to the ring, something went wrong and he fell. Medical tried to help and brought him to the hospital, but he was declared dead. Many who there, believe he died on impact or inside the ring. Vince McMahon ket the pay per view going, leading to questions if the event should have been cancelled.

To this day, Martha Hart still holds a grudge with Vince McMahon. Therefore, they are unable to put him in the WWE Hall of Fame. Martha is not totally against wrestling, as she allowed AEW to use Owen’s name and image the last few years. She even appeared and presented the winners with specially made belts.
WWE Landscape Has Changed
A lot has changed in WWE over the past few months. Vince McMahon is gone for good, resigning from the TKO Board after sexual harassment and sexual-trafficing was made public. During discussion on Grilling JR, Jim Ross sees Vince’s departure as possibly paving the way for Owen Hart to become a WWE Hall of Fame inductee.

“I can see it being able to be worked out a lot easier now that [Vince] McMahon is out of the picture,” said Ross. “That was her roadblock, so we’ll see. God knows he’s deserving. That’s never been an issue. But if Martha likes it, and feels good about then comfort zone then why not?”
“I think it’s great. She’s such a pleasure to work with. She’s not angry at pro wrestling anymore, doesn’t seem to me like. I mean, she’s heartbroken with how things happened to Owen like they did and as we all are, and have been. But I’d say that the odds of Owen being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame have increased immensely since Vince McMahon resigned his post.”
The 2024 class looks rather full, so it will not happen this year. Hopefully, both sides can work on something because Owen deserves that spot. It would be a moment current and fans who stopped watching would tune-in to see. If it does happen, the ceremony will be full of tears.
