It’s the most wonderful time of the year for WWE fans, the Road To WrestleMania season. As everyone gears up for the company’s flagship event, a new report notes that “old traditions” are being wiped out for future ‘Manias to come.
WWE Update On WrestleMania 41
WrestleMania 40 is taking place on April 6 and 7 this year in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Lincoln Financial Field. Still, while everyone is getting ready for the Grandest Stage of Them All, planning for next year’s WM is well underway.
According to PWInsider, the front-runner for WrestleMania 41 in 2025 is Minneapolis. This would be the first time a WWE “Big Four” event has been held there in 26 years.
The last time the WWE was in Minneapolis for a Big Four premium live event (PLE) was the 1999 SummerSlam event. So much has changed within the company’s landscape since then.
While Minneapolis is in the lead to host WM 41, nothing has been set in stone. In fact, the PWInsider report states there has been a buzz that the WWE is also considering Las Vegas.
The last time WrestleMania was hosted in Sin City was 1993. This is when WM 9 took place on April 4 of that year, at Caesar’s Palace.
WWE Is Throwing WrestleMania “Traditions” Out The Window
The PWInsider report ended on an interesting note. It states that Endeavor plans to throw “old traditions” out the window. Their current focus is whatever is deemed best for the company, moving forward.
The location of the 2025 edition of WrestleMania should be announced sometime during, or before, this year’s WM 40. It’ll be interesting to see which city the larger-than-life event will land in.
After all, WM 40’s press conference did take place in Las Vegas this year, which could offer a hint that the WWE will decide to head to that city, versus Minneapolis. Only time will tell.
