With WrestleMania 40 coming from Philly, WWE wants Sylvester Stallone and it probably has something to do with his character, Rocky Balboa.
WWE Wants Sylvester Stallone For WrestleMania 40 In Philly
WWE loves to bring in celebrities, even if they have nothing to do with the product. We saw lots of that when each week there was a random General Manger for RAW.
With WrestleMania 40 coming from Philly, one particular movie character comes to mind. That would be none other than Rocky Balboa.
For those who have never seen the franchise, you need to binge-watch those movies. They first two installments are classics.
Also, the others are rather good. Except for Rocky 5, which was an embarrassment.
And, by the way, Hulk Hogan even appears in the third installment.
Thankfully, the spinoff series did not end Rocky’s story on a sour note.
Basically, there were reports circulating yesterday that WWE wanted Sylvester Stallone at WrestleMania 40. He certainly would not wrestle, but hosting the show or throwing a quick punch might work.
According to WrestleVotes, Stallone appearing live would be rather difficult with his current schedule.
“Wrestlevotes reported that WWE was talking to Sylvester Stallone about appearing at WrestleMania this year, since the character of Rocky Balboa was based in Philadelphia. Those at WWE have confirmed the talk but said that as of earlier in the week Stallone had said there was a schedule conflict so the deal hasn’t been done unless you can or wants to remove the conflict.”
I do hope both sides can work something out. Having Sylvester Stallone there would bring even more attention to the pay per view.
WWE has time to put something together. WrestleMania 40 is April 6 and 7 out of the Lincoln Financial Field. With The Rock, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and more set to appear, the event will be a massive draw.
