Superstars love social media, and we wonder…is Sheamus providing cryptic updates about his WWE future using those platforms?
Maybe, maybe not. The Irish Superstar could just be entertaining himself all while trolling WWE fans.
Of course, if you have been paying attention, you know that Sheamus is in a bit of limbo in WWE.
Sheamus is one of several high profile WWE Superstars who have expiring contracts in 2024.
As of late 2023, there had been some whispers about whether or not the former champion was going to re-sign with WWE, or if he was destined to work elsewhere.
But it has been a while since we’ve seen him in a WWE ring, as he is currently out recovering from shoulder surgery.
Fans had hoped we might see Sheamus back in the 2024 Royal Rumble, but as we know…that did not happen.
Sheamus Providing Cryptic Updates About WWE Future
We do know that the Celtic Warrior signed a five year deal in 2019, back when AEW was taking off.
5 years later, the contract, as written, will expire this year.
Now, to be fair, we do know that WWE often tacks time on when talent misses time due to injury.
And…Sheamus has missed time due to injury.
Whether that time is getting added, or has been, remains to be seen. If added, it’s possible he could be under contract for much of 2024.
Regardless, as he is on the sidelines, he has been posting some rather funny or cryptic messages. Things as simple as “hi” or “bye”, but not much other substance.
The weirdness was covered by Wrestling, Inc.
Given the timing of things, there’s some thought that we could see him back right after WrestleMania.
After all, the RAW after WrestleMania tends to be a night of big returns, debuts and surprises.
With a name like Drew McIntyre believed to be close to re-signing with WWE…is his Irish friend going to do the same?
Or will he simply play out his contract and go find work elsewhere?
