She’s enjoying her time at the top of AEW following her defeat of Riho at World’s End…so who does Toni Storm want next?

It is a big question, and of course assumes that the unsuccessful challenger will just go away quietly.

Following her final PPV match for 2023, Storm was asked a bunch of questions, as per usual.

One such question was aimed toward finding out just who Storm might want to take on next.

Not that the champ does (or does not) have any say in the matter…but…

Storm minced no words, she said she would love to spend time with the recently returned Kris Statlander.

The timeless champion specifically said she’d like to touch the former TBS Champion, but the message was pretty clear.

AEW would love to see some names and faces further elevated, and why not Statlander?

She is obviously seen as someone of some significance to the women’s division.

After all, after returning from a long time off due to injury, what did she do?

She came in and gave now-WWE Superstar Jade Cargill her first defeat, taking that TBS Championship from her.

While Cargill has moved on, the title change was a big deal. You knew it wasn’t going to be just anyone to get that win.

I mean, Jade had held the gold for over 500 days. As with most big streaks, breaking that streak should mean a lot, and be used to elevate the victor.

That’s where Statlander fits.

And, having her getting the attention of the current AEW Women’s Champion should be a good sign for what lies ahead in 2024.

Of course, a lot can change between now and then, and nothing is even set in stone.

But, if the champ wants her, my gut says the champ will get what she wants, sooner or later.
