The Head of the Table has had a nice break, but Roman Reigns returns soon, and will he respond to The Rock?

WWE confirmed that the long-reigning champion will be at the first SmackDown of 2024, dubbed New Year’s Revolution.

The show will cap a busy and loaded week of WWE shows, which kicked off with the New Year’s Day RAW.

That one, dubbed Day 1, gave us a lot to talk about.

Included in those highlights? The RAW return of The Rock.

And, The People’s Champion didn’t seem to come back only to smile and wave.

Oh, sure, he took out Jinder Mahal for fun…but the most notable bit from Rock’s appearance?

His comments heard around the wrestling world, a not so subtle comment aimed at the Head of the Table.

And just like that, we have it confirmed that Reigns will be present on Friday’s show.

The main purpose is likely to see who becomes his next challenger.

On the first SmackDown of the year, we have a triple threat, and one of AJ Styles, Randy Orton or LA Knight will punch their ticket to battle Reigns at the Rumble.

But, finding out his next challenger might not be the biggest item on the agenda.

His cousin, whom we thought he could face at last year’s WrestleMania, seems poised to step into the ring against the Tribal Chief.

Rock had made comments last year that, should things work out, he was open to the match.

We had also heard reports that there was a legitimate chance we could see The Great One involved with the Elimination Chamber PLE.

That is a massive event, made even more massive because it’s happening in Australia.

Could you imagine if we had Reigns, in three consecutive PLE’s, taking on Orton, Rock and Rhodes?

It might just happen. Friday will go a long way toward telling us how likely it is.
