Report: CM Punk Suffers Significant Injury At WWE Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble closed with Cody Rhodes the victor. As a result, he will face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

He last eliminated CM Punk to win his consecutive Men’s Royal Rumble Match. While the ending came across well on TV, there seems to be an issue.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com mentioned Punk has suffered a significant injury that he will address on tonight’s RAW.

“His exact injury was unconfirmed by those in WWE past many confirming the injury and that as of right now the plan is to have him on the show from Tampa to address the nature of the injury,” said Meltzer.

“Within the WWE the speculation was a torn triceps but nobody close enough to the situation would confirm anything more than a significant injury to be addressed on the show.”

As of now, neither WWE or Punk have commented.

Punk retuned to WWE at the conclusion of Survivor Series to one of the loudest pops ever. Since then, he wrestled once; defeating Dominik Mysterio at a live event.

The Royal Rumble marked 10 years since he infamously walked away from WWE.

He would join AEW and brining tons of attention. The won their tope prize, but suffered injuries like the one at the Royal Rumble

Several backstage issues led to his AEW release.

While not confirmed, Seth Rollins defending his World Heavyweight Champion against Punk in the main event of WrestleMania 40 looked likely. Remember, Rollins is also hurt.

The loss of either would be a huge blow to WrestleMania and the rest of the WWE schedule.
