After learning of his resignation recently, we can wonder…how will WWE replace Kevin Dunn?
Dunn was a longtime company man and someone who worked closely with Vince McMahon. He tendered his resignation over the holiday.
Per the Wrestling Observer, it is believed that Dunn is done effective immediately.
Considering Dunn was one of the top guys in the back within the company, his departure is a big deal, right?
Meaning, there’s probably going to be some challenges moving forward, at least for a bit…right?
Which leaves us to the question…
How Will WWE Replace Kevin Dunn?
According to Fightful, the belief right now is that the work that Kevin Dunn had been doing is likely to be distributed to several people.
There were a few more interesting tidbits as well.
For starters, while his exit did surprise some in the locker room, it sounds like it was inevitable.
Dunn’s reasoning was that how the new regime did things did not mesh with how he did things, and he was not going to adjust.
Fair enough.
Per the report, in the last year or so (basically since Hunter was elevated), Dunn has lost some of his stroke.
He has also been missing shows more frequently.
All while several in the back have been learning how to do whatever it was that Kevin Dunn did.
Meaning? To me, it sounds like WWE knew this was coming, one way or another, so they were preparing.
Now that Dunn has tapped out, his duties are expected to be divided up.
Fightful also speculated that it is not likely that anyone performing Dunn’s former duties will be able to have so much power and influence.
Probably at least one reason for dividing up his former roles and responsibilities.
While his resignation is a big deal, it sounds like it’s being handled well, and being viewed as additional post-Vince cleanup.
