While WWE premium live events (PLE) generally take place somewhere in the United States, as of late, the company has been extending these shows to international locations. The wrestling promotion recently announced where the 2024 Money in the Bank (MITB) will take place, and it’s somewhere that some may not expect.
2024 WWE Money In The Bank Location
WWE announced this morning that the 2024 MITB PLE is set to take place on Saturday, July 6th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Scotiabank Arena. A press release was sent out, followed by an official tweet from the company’s CCO, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
HHH notes on X/Twitter that the event will be “epic”, and he likely won’t disappoint. In addition to the MITB PLE, Friday Night SmackDown will also take place in Toronto the night before the big event, and NXT Heatwave will happen at the Scotiabank Arena the next day on Sunday, July 7th.
While more information should trickle down the pipe as the event approaches, the WWE also confirmed fans could register for a pre-sale and “Priority Passes” will be issued. This will allow some to grab those golden show tickets before others.
WWE Continues Its “International Locations” Trend
Today’s announcement about MITB makes it the fourth WWE PLE scheduled for a location outside of the United States. The Elimination Chamber event, which takes place next month, will occur in Australia.
Meanwhile, WrestleMania Backlash, occurring in May, is heading to France. Lastly Bash in Berlin is rolling out at the end of August in Germany.
These events offer WWE fans outside of America an easier chance to experience the larger-than-life shows in person. A great move by the company with an massive international fanbase.
The last time the WWE had a PLE in Canada was for last year’s Elimination Chamber, which took place at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec. The last time a WWE PLE occurred in Toronto (at the Scotiabank Arena) was in August 2019 for SummerSlam.
