Now that Bill Goldberg is no longer with the WWE, many want to see him in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). But will that end up happening?
Could Bill Goldberg End Up AEW?
During a PWInsider Q&A Session, the possibility of Goldberg becoming All Elite was brought up. It was revealed that AEW’s Tony Khan has talked to the WWE Hall of Famer.
It was also noted that Goldberg is on good terms with the WWE, despite being a free agent. It was also stated there are “no plans” to bring him to AEW, as of yet.
Vince Russo’s Thoughts On Bill Goldberg
Former WWE and WCW creative head Vince Russo recently shed some light on how it was to work with the former WWE Universal Champion. During the Legion of RAW podcast, Russo named Goldberg as the one star who would never made it easy for him, as a writer.
Russo notes that the “worst pain” was Goldberg. He states that he believes it was because the talent bought into his own hype, a little “too much”.
He adds that Golberg would reject ideas, and openly state he didn’t like ideas. Russo notes there are always some who aren’t easy to work with.
Still, one can’t deny Goldberg’s incredible success in wrestling. After his NFL career ended, he debuted in WCW in 1997.
He had an incredible undefeated streak until 1998 and was the highest-paid star on the roster. During his tenure with the promotion, he became a Triple Crown Champion, holding the World Heavyweight title, the U.S. title, and one-half of the World Tag Team titles at one point or another.
While his first run with the WWE in 2003 wasn’t anything to write home about, when he returned in 2016, he truly marked his legacy. He became a two-time Universal Champion and was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame in 2018.
