As 2023 comes to a close, it looks like the WWE is ensuring two top stars remain with the company. According to a report, both Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio have re-signed deals with the promotion.
Rey & Dominik Mysterio Sign New WWE Deals
As per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Rey Mysterio recently inked a new WWE deal. Meanwhile, his son Dominik renewed his WWE contract about a month ago.
The report notes that Dom’s deal is said to be five years. No word on how long of a contract Rey-Rey signed.
Rey & Dominik’s WWE History
The older Mysterio first joined the WWE in 2002 and has been on-again/off-again with the company since. His most recent run saw him return in 2018.
During his time with the WWE, Rey’s “done it all”. From three-time WWE Champion to Intercontinental Champion (2 times), U.S. Champion (3 times), Cruiserweight Champion (3 times), and Tag Team Champion (5 times).
In fact, one of those WWE tag title runs happens to be with Dom, as the two made history by being the first father-son team to win those championships in the company. Of course, Rey was also the 2006 Royal Rumble winner and a WWE Hall of Famer, inducted this past year.
Meanwhile, Dom’s resume with the company is not too shabby. Sure, fans remember him from his multiple appearances as a child and youth, but he officially debuted in the WWE as a talent in 2020.
During his tenure, he’s become a WWE tag team champion and held NXT’s North American title, twice. In addition, he’s a part of one the most dominant factions in current storylines, The Judgement Day.
Sadly, it was because of the stable that Dominik and Rey parted ways back in 2022. Still, Dom has become one of the top heels in the company because of his turn, so sometimes everything happens for a reason.
