Once thought to be a slam dunk signing, is Mercedes Mone no longer expected to be All Elite?

Late on Friday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful had this to say about the former WWE Superstar’s AEW prospects:

“The once working plans for Mercedes and AEW are no longer working plans”.

Now, on one hand, I could read that and feel like it is saying that what were once plans, have been set into motion.

That, however, does not seem to be the case now.

Instead, it seems as though the former Sasha Banks may not be as interested in Tony Khan’s company as she once may have been.

Truthfully, we don’t know how interested she was.

We do know that she went to NJPW, won gold and got injured.

That ankle injury is what has her out of action currently.

We also know that Mercedes Mone was in attendance when AEW had a packed house at Wembley over the summer.

With that appearance-shown on television in the crowd-many wrestling fans saw that as an indication that Mone to AEW was virtually a done deal.

Those were the working plans, but…those have gone poof.

Some other things that got mentioned in the report?

One, Fightful has not heard anything about talks between Mone/Banks and WWE.

Two, whomever lands her, it is believed that Mercedes Mone is asking for a ton of money.

Which brings us to this…

WWE has been on a roll lately.

The latest big move was, of course, bringing back prodigal son CM Punk.

Which is another time in wrestling we know to never say never.

The former Banks, who walked out during RAW as one half of the women’s tag champs…could wind up walking back in soon.

Triple H will surely be in touch and looking to get the company even more talent.

Having her as a surprise return in January would certainly fit the Royal Rumble.
