It’s been a hot minute since AEW fans have seen Kyle O’Reilly in action. WNZ offers a major update on the star and his status with the company.
AEW Update On Kyle O’Reilly
The AEW star suffered from a neck injury and required neck fusion surgery. He’s been out of in-ring competition for about 18 months.
The bad news is, fans likely won’t see him in that squared circle in 2023. However, a report offers a hopeful update.
According to Fightful Select, O’Reilly has been at AEW tapings, backstage. There has been talk of a return to television.
With that being said, no timeline was given. Still, it does look like there’s light at the end of the tunnel and a comeback may be in the works.
Kyle O’Reilly’s History With AEW
The star debuted in AEW about two years ago. This was after his WWE contract expired.
He immediately joined his former NXT Undisputed Era stable mates, Bobby Fish and Adam Cole. Along with the Young Bucks, the three formed the “Undisputed Elite” faction.

Still, the stable was short-lived as both Cole and Kyle suffered injuries. Fish would end up leaving All Elite Wrestling after his deal expired.
O’Reilly’s last match was in June of 2022. His last AEW appearance on television was in early August of that year.
So, this news of a possible return comes at an interesting time. As AEW Champion MJF is being targeted by a group of mysterious men, led by someone in a devil mask, many fans are speculating on who the leader of the group is.
Adam Cole is friends with both Kyle and MJF, which could offer a bit of a plot twist. Could O’Reilly be the man behind the mask and all these attacks when all is said and done?
