Karrion Kross, who is in his second run on the WWE main roster, is very open to the idea, under the right circumstances, of returning to NXT.
Karrion Kross Open To Another Chance In NXT
The purpose of NXT is to prepare talent before making the jump to the main roster. Some spend only a short time on the brand and others have been there for years, waiting on that major call.
Karrion Kross and his now wife, Scarlett, spent about a year in NXT. In that time, his only loss was to Samoa Joe.
Not long after dropping the NXT Championship, Kross officially became part of team RAW. He was released after only a few months on TV.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Kross was open to the idea of returning to NXT. His first run lacked fans because of the pandemic, which affected Kross.
“It was difficult to get through and I was always hoping, while I was at NXT, that I would be able to get that premium live event crowd,” said Kross. “I never got that.”
“The Takeovers that they did in New York […] we had that little audience. Whether they knew it or not, they were like family to me.”
“Even when they were booing me and calling me every name in the book, which they should have because that’s what I was trying to elicit. In place of my family that I didn’t have at the time, I had that audience.”
“I don’t think they realize just the feeling there, what that was like psychologically doing for me. That audience carried me through that period.”
“It would be nice to see them again and it would be nice to do one of those Takeover events. Narrative should make sense and it should be under the right circumstances.”
“I wouldn’t just want to go back for the hell of it. I would want to go back for something good for them.”
Before being released by WWE, it was clear his character would not work on the main roster. They removed Scarlett and made Kross wear gladiator type clothing.
Once Triple H gained more power, he brought Kross and Scarlett back. They are featured more on TV, but, at the moment, neither have clicked with fans.
So, would Karrion Kross be better off in NXT?
