After what has recently transpired, is FTR leaving AEW after a stunning loss?

Time to recap things just a bit…

FTR, formerly known as The Revival in WWE, have been in AEW for the past few years.

There was some talk in the last year or so that their contracts were ending and with the change of leadership in WWE, perhaps they’d go back.

Except, they did indeed re-sign with AEW.

In the time since then, their close buddy CM Punk has managed to have a crazy post-show brawl, long suspension and then yet another clash that led to his firing.

But, outside of someone like Ace Steel, you don’t get fired for being friends with CM Punk, do you?

No, you do not.

So, on the October 7th edition of Collision, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood defended their AEW tag titles against Big Bill (Big Cass from WWE) and Ricky Starks.

And, in the blink of an eye…they lost them.

Following the loss, one where Dax took all the bumps, this got posted to Twitter or X, whichever you prefer to call it.

That last three words? Those send the wrestling world into a bit of a frenzy, thinking it meant the duo was exiting AEW.

But, for fans of the pair, and of AEW…rest easy. FTR are not, in fact, leaving AEW.

Per the Wrestling Observer, Cash Wheeler is dealing with an injury sustained during a previous title defense.

While the nature of that injury is not currently available, based on what transpired on Collision, we have to believe that Cash needs a bit of time to heal up and get right.

As such, FTR dropped the titles and appears to be taking some time off.

But, with long contracts in place and an old friend just arriving, we can expect them to come back better than ever soon enough.
