Here’s a random question that came up…who would Tony Khan have running AEW if it wasn’t himself?

The question was posed to the boy wonder during the pre-All In presser.

For better or worse, Tony Khan has turned a hobby into his gig, as he funded and now runs AEW.

What was driven by Cody Rhodes and his friends and nurtured by the son of a billionaire…is flourishing, all things considered.

We know that not everything is sunshine and roses, but obviously Khan is pushing plenty of the right buttons to have mostly happy talent.

After all, especially up until Vince McMahon was pushed out, talent couldn’t flock to Khan fast enough.

One knock on Khan, however, is that he was in over his head, booking like a fan. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t, but since it was his money…what could you do?

So, when someone asked him this question, it was interesting…as was his answer.

In AEW there are a number of seasoned veterans, including some who have been there for basically all of the company’s existence.

Guys like Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks and Chris Jericho. Surely, one of those was on Tony’s mind, right?

Wrong.

Bryan Danielson was the answer. That may be notable for plenty of other reasons, but that’s pure speculation.

For now, it just shows how much trust, faith and respect Tony has in the American Dragon.

We’d already known that Danielson was helping to book Collision. With his wrist injury keeping him out of the ring, it’s a safe bet he’s been working more behind the scenes.

And now, the owner himself is on record as saying, should he ever have something happen to him where he couldn’t run AEW…he would want that responsibility falling to Danielson.
