WWE superstar Jey Uso was recently switched to the Monday Night RAW brand after the Payback pay-per-view (PPV). A new report sheds light on the reason behind this move.

The “Main Event” superstar quit SmackDown after SummerSlam, and Cody Rhodes quickly announced he was heading to the Red brand. Of course, this came with a “trade incentive” for the Blue brand, but this has yet to be revealed.
After his arrival on RAW, he has been presented as a top star on the Red roster. A Fightful Select report provides insight as to the former Bloodline member’s status with the WWE.
When inquiring about the plans heading into SummerSlam, the report reveals that the WWE was confident the storyline would help springboard the star into singles “stardom”.
Fightful was told that moving him onto RAW was a part of this and that he has “long-term” plans on the show. The report also notes that the “wheels” were already in motion by this time.
Sources who talked to Fightful say that the former tag champion is slated for a heavily featured role on RAW that should be carried out for the minimum of the next two months. He’s also set to get a ton of TV time.
It was also noted that the WWE higher-ups were pleased with the reaction he’s getting as of late. The star has been wrestling since 2007 but has always (generally) worked alongside his brother Jimmy, as a tag team.
In fact, they are undeniably one of the best tag teams in WWE’s modern history, if not, of all time. They’ve held the tag titles (on both brands) for eight different runs.
Alas, it may be time for them both to try singles run. Looks like the WWE has some big plans for him.
