Kairi Sane was popular with fans and wrestlers during her stint in WWE. Now that she is coming back, what factors led to that call being made?
Reason Kairi Sane Decided To Rejoin WWE
By now, we know Kairi Sane will be returning to WWE and it is only a matter of time. This will mark her second run with the promotion, after leaving in 2021.
The decision to return to the United States and work for WWE came down to several factors. It was a combination of backstage politics and possible regret.
Dave Meltzer noted how the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion entered free agency in March and there were several offers.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer discussed Sane’s relationship with Stardom founder Rossy Ogawa. The relationship is strong, but the promotion’s parent company, Bushiroad, wanted her to sign an exclusive deal.
At that point, negotiations seemed to breakdown. Also, he noted how Iyo Sky has been booked as of late. Sky won Money in the Bank this year and just successfully cashed-in at SummerSlam to win gold.
Basically, all that played a role. Those close to Kairi encouraged her to rejoin WWE to avoid any doubts down the line.
Finally, having Triple H there, with a decent amount of power, was another reason for the return.
Kairi Sane joined WWE and won the Mae Young Classic Tournament. This was followed with a short stint as NXT Women’s Champion.
Upon joining the main roster, she was paired with Asuka and they went by The Kabuki Warriors. They had one reign as Women’s Tag Team Champions and it was probably the best run since those titles were reintroduced by WWE.
