Bellator 298 Chance For Logan Storley To Shine Bright
This Friday night, South Dakota native and former interim champion Logan Storley has a tremendous opportunity in front of him.
Storley will take on Brennan Ward in the main event of Bellator 298 live on Showtime from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Competing in your home state is always a chance to really show out in front of the masses. And for Storley, this would be the perfect time to do just that.
The 30-year-old was born in Roslyn, South Dakota and attended Minnesota where he was an All-American wrestler. He still trans in his home state out of the Sanford MMA team.
In February, though, Storley suffered a tough decision loss to Yaroslav Amosov for the Bellator welterweight title. He had scored the belt on an interim basis with a win last year over Michael Page.
Logan Storley Just Can’t Solve Amosov
In 16 career fights at the professional MMA level, Storley has lost just twice. Both times, it has been Amosov on the receiving end of victories.
The first came in 2020 with Amosov earning a split decision win that ended an 11-fight win streak for Storley. The next was earlier this year for the unified Bellator welterweight title.
Between that, he has dominated the likes of Page, Neiman Gracie, E.J. Brooks, A.J. Matthews and Joaquin Buckley since joining Bellator in 2017.
Rest Of Bellator 298 Fight Card
Along with Storley taking on Ward, former interim heavyweight champion Valentin Moldavsky meets Steve Mowry in the co-main event. Dalton Rosta gets Aaron Jeffrey, James Gallagher returns to fight James Gonzalez and Sidney Outlaw kicks off the main card vs. Islam Mamedov.
On the prelims, which air on both YouTube and Pluto TV, Lucas Brennan fights Weber Almeida, Enrique Barzola faces Jaylon Bates, Kai Kamaka III squares off with Akhemd Magomedov and Diana Avsargova takes on Justine Kish.
Overall, this is the fourth visit by Bellator to Sioux Falls and the first since last August with Bellator 284. Ironically enough, that event featured Moldavsky vs. Mowry in the co-main event. That bout was ended in less than a minute due to an eye poke.
