Bellator 299: Plenty Of Irish Flavor Added To The Event

Bellator 299

Officials are putting the finishing touches on the Bellator 299 fight card, and there will definitely be plenty of Irish flavor to it. The action takes place September 23 from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland with Johnny Eblen defending his middleweight title against Fabian Edwards.

Bellator 299: More Bouts Added To Irish Fight Card

Several more fights have been made official for the return of Bellator to Ireland.

Bellator 299 takes place Saturday, September 23 from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. The main card airs live on Showtime with Johnny Eblen defending his middleweight title against Fabian Edwards.

Hometown fighters Peter Queally, Ciaran Clarke, Darragh Kelly and Charlie Ward were all announced for action that night as well.

Queally meets Daniele Miceli, Clarke gets Przemyslaw Gorny, Kelly faces Jelle Zeegers and Ward battles Gregory Babene.

Along with the Eblen-Edwards title fight, the main card includes Aaron Pico vs. Pedro Carvalho, Sinead Kavanagh vs. Sara Collins and Mads Burnell vs. Daniel Weichel.

More On The Four New Fights Added

Peter Queally will want to leverage the might of the Irish support to help him replicate his past success inside the cage which saw him compete for the vacated lightweight world title. Standing in his way is BELLATOR newcomer Daniele Miceli who will be aiming to shine on his promotional debut and silence the partisan crowd at the 3Arena.

Submission specialist Ciaran Clarke has continued to dazzle with his thrilling performances and has staked his position as one of the hottest prospects on the BELLATOR roster. The Drogheda native is currently riding a formidable seven-fight win streak and has yet to taste defeat. Clarke enters the fight on the back of a unanimous decision win over Leonardo Sinis at BELLATOR 291, although another triumph will not come easy as debutant Górny comes into the bout undefeated in three fights and will look to make a mark in the division and disrupt Clarke’s ascent into the official BELLATOR rankings.

Nicknamed the “Moville Mauler,” SBG Ireland’s rising star Darragh Kelly will be hoping to maul his next opponent after a dominant ground-and-pound victory against Dorval Jordan in Dublin earlier this year. His challenger, Jelle Zeegers, will be eager to assert himself in the division on his promotional debut.

Meanwhile, Irish veteran Charlie Ward continues to prove age is just a number as he enters the cage in search of success after suffering close back-to-back defeats against England’s No. 1 middleweight challenger Fabian Edwards and Mike Shipman. Against Ward, fellow experienced competitor Gregory Babene will look to derail the Irishman who is renowned for his knockout threat. The Frenchman will look to win his eighth straight fight and solidify himself in the 185-pound division in a contest which is certain to catch the eyes of fight fans.
