Details On Eric Young’s WWE Release + Impact Wresting Status
For about two years, WWE let go tons of employees. It was a combo of wrestlers, backstage workers and those from corporate. Firing so many people during a pandemic really made the WWE look bad.
Eventually, things started to change in WWE and some of those names were brought back. We have seen Bronson Reed, Dexter Lumes, Karrion Kross and many more return once Triple H was running things.
He also re-signed Eric Young back in December, but he never appeared on TV. In May, Young teased some big changes. Now, after Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary, we know what he was talking about.
Fightful Select has details on Eric Young’s WWE release, which he requested in April. He took objection to working with Vince McMahon again over “moral, creative, and personal reasons.” This makes him the first known talent to ask for his release once Vince returned.
Vince ended his short retirement late last year. In quick fashion, he was once again part of WWE and this time looking to sell. The sale of WWE is over as Endeavor purchased the company. Endeavor is known for many entities, including the UFC.
The report counted how there were plans for Young to return to WWE TV after WrestleMania 39.
In his first WWE stint, Young mostly worked in NXT and formed the stable, Sanity. They were promoted to the main roster, but really did nothing.
Young is very familiar with Impact Wrestling. He spent a good chunk of his career there. He began as a member of Team Canada and before departing, even won the Impact Wrestling World Championship.
