PFL 5 Features Ante Delija, Larissa Pacheco Live On ESPN
Defending champions Ante Delija and Larissa Pacheco will be in the featured bouts this Thursday night when PFL 5 takes place. The event is set for the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, airing live on ESPN and streaming on ESPN+.
Both Delija and Pacheco will look to avoid what happened to Brendan Loughnane at PFL 4 last week. Loughnane was knocked out of the competition with a stunning main event loss.
Delija is looking for his first points of the season, while Pacheco sits three behind her opponent, Amber Leibrock, for the No. 1 spot.
Muhammad Ali’s Grandson Set For Another Bout
Biaggio Ali Walsh, the grandson of the legendary Muhammad Ali, is set tor return to action against Travell Miller. Ali is slowly working his way through the beginning stages of his pro career after competing as an amateur.
Rounding out the main card will be Aspen Ladd taking on Karolina Sobek and Renan Ferreira going up against Matheus Scheffel.
Ferreira suffered a loss in his first bout, while Ladd and Sobek are also seeking win No. 1 of the 2023 season.
Prelims Feature More Heavyweight, Featherweight Action
Seven bouts in all are scheduled for the prelims, including former Bellator champion Julia Budd in action. Budd will battle Martina Jindrova as she looks to earn one of the four spots in the women’s featherweight semifinals.
Denis Goltsov takes on Yorgan De Castro, Danilo Marques battles Marcelo Nunes, Patrick Brady faces Jordan Heiderman and Isaiah Pinson fights Denzel Freeman in heavyweight action.
Marina Mokhnatkina vs. Evelyn Martins and Olena Kolesnyk vs. Yoko Higashi round out the card.
PFL 6 On Deck Next Week
The final PFL event of the month is set for June 23 with PFL 6. There, Olivier Aubin-Mercier takes on Anthony Romero and Sadibou Sy battles Shane Mitchell.
Both Aubin-Mercier and Sy scored titles last year in the lightweight and welterweight divisions of the promotion.
Shane Burgos vs. Yamato Nishikawa and Clay Collard vs. Stevie Ray are also scheduled.
