CM Punk apologized to Tony Khan for the All Out media scrum, where he attacked The Elite and made AEW look really bad.
CM Punk Apologized To Tony Khan For All Out Media Srum
Last year, AEW All Out got people talking. During the post-show media scrum, CM Punk heavily criticized AEW and The Elite, while Tony Khan sat right next to him.
As a result, a brawl took place backstage and suspensions were handed-out. Everyone is now back on TV, with Punk set to return tomorrow for the debut of AEW Collision.
In an interview with ESPN, Punk went over what happened after the media scrum. Basically, CM Punk apologized to Tony Khan for what occurred.
“The first thing I said to Tony when I sat down with him and spoke to him after it was, ‘Man, I’m really sorry I put you in that position.’ I apologize for the scrum,” said Punk.
“But when you’ve watched that scrum, you’re looking at a very, very frustrated guy who had told people. That’s not the first time he heard all that. It’s not the first time lawyers were told all that.”
“And I was just looking for something to be done and nothing got done. So, if you want something done right, you got to do it yourself.”
“And I just didn’t approach it in the right manner, but tension was high. I was very, very pissed. I pretty much knew that I had just injured myself again.”
“I was hurt, and I was disappointed. Yeah, it’s very easy for me to say I regret that and I handled it the wrong way, 100%.”
We will have to see the reaction Punk gets upon his return. Tomorrow, Punk and FTR will take on Samoa Joe, Jay White and Juice Robinson.
It will be interesting to see how Punk and The Elite react to the situation.
So, when CM Punk apologized to Tony Khan, did he do enough damage control for everything that transpired last year?
