Matt Cardona would only rejoin WWE if they promise him one thing. And, that is to be positioned as a top star.
While speaking with the Heated Shenanigans podcast, Cardona promised to never return to WWE unless they meet one demand.
“I’m not gonna come back to, you know, just be on the show,” said Cardona. “I would never go back just to be back.”
“I’ve been on the roster. I was there. Very fortunate for my time there. Spent over a decade there.”
“But, I did the whole just the guy on the roster thing. I have no desire to do that again. If I’m gonna be there, I wanna matter.”
“Matt Cardona would only rejoin WWEAnd I think I proved over the past three years that I’m more than capable of holding my own. And if I ever get that opportunity again, I think I’ll prove that to the world.”
That said, Matt Cardona also believes he will return to WWE eventually. While Cardona’s wife, Chelsea Green, returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, only time will tell when he could make his comeback to the company.
He continued how he does see a WWE return eventually happening. But, who really knows as he teased heavily appearing during the 2023 Royal Rumble Match and nothing materialized.
Green did return at the event. She lasted a record five seconds and has since been portraying a ‘Karen’ gimmick, which fans love.
Before being let go by WWE, Cardona was known as Zack Ryder. He was over with fans and was the first superstar to use social media to elevate his character.
Since Cardona departed WWE, he has become one of the biggest draws in the Indy scene. Even if a WWE return does not happen, Cardona seems to be doing just fine.
So, if Matt Cardona would only rejoin WWE for a top spot the right call?
