According to a new report, CM Punk is looking to return to AEW. In fact, he would be more than okay to work with The Elite. Speaking of All Elite Wrestling, Brian Cage has re-signed a long-term deal.

CM Punk Wants AEW Return

As per Fightful Select, the polarizing talent is currently looking to return to AEW. The report notes that he still has “the wrestling” bug, as the talent has hinted on social media.

The report reveals that CM Punk has reached out “repeatedly” to return. He’s also “laid out” potential scenarios for his comeback.

Probably the most interesting part of the entire report is that it states CM Punk has expressed willingness to work with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. For those that recall, issues hit fever-pitch backstage last September when a brawl broke out between the four talents.

This was after the infamous post-All Out media scrum. All four men (among others) were suspended after the controversial confrontation.

However, Omega and The Elite have since returned to action. Punk hasn’t appeared on AEW television since.

CM Punk Wants AEW Return – But There’s Drama

There’s been a ton of drama surrounding Punk, even during his in-ring absence. Last month, reports surfaced that he was on the cusp of a major AEW return.

Unfortunately, he denied this and then went on to start a spat with Jon Moxley. On an Instagram story, he revealed that Moxley didn’t want to lose to him, among other things.

Moxley would then hop on his wife’s podcast, The Sessions with Renee Paquette, to address his side of things. In addition, Punk also doesn’t have a good working relationship with Chris Jericho, a very top AEW star, either.

Still, it’s undeniable that he is a huge draw for AEW, despite the issues many have with him backstage. However, one talent he has a friendship with is FTR’s Dax Harwood.

Harwood recently revealed on his podcast that his friend would love to come back to wrestling. He notes that his friend “misses wrestling” and wants “to give back” to the fans.

Harwood even presented an idea for his friend’s return and to capitalize on all the “backstage” drama. He notes it should be FTR teaming up with CM Punk versus The Elite at All In, in London, England.

Sounds like an interesting angle. But will it happen?

Over to other AEW news, after weeks of speculation, Brian Cage has re-signed with the company. More on this story, below.

Brian Cage Re-Signs Long-Term

For weeks now, reports have suggested that Cage’s contract was coming up, and there was speculation about the Trios titles ahead of ROH Supercard of Honor. The Embassy retained, so many believed Cage was staying with the company.

The Speculation Ran Wild

Still, it was reported that Brian was still working out a contract at that point in time. There was also speculation that Cage was on the cusp of becoming a free agent.

Plus, there were issues of “when” he would get his free agent status since AEW was thinking about adding time to his original deal due to this injury when signing. According to the report, a number of talents pushed for Brian to be re-signed.

Plus, there was said to be interest from the WWE. In the end, Cage worked with an agent and liked the AEW offer presented.

The report also states that AEW worked hard to complete the deal in the past two weeks. The report reveals Cage’s contract was “agreed to” in principle ahead of Brian’s alliance with Swerve Strickland during AEW Rampage last week.

Looks like Brian Cage will be All Elite for quite some time. It’ll be interesting to see what lays ahead for him in the company.
