Braun Strowman Faces Backstage Trouble

Many people wondered why the WWE did not let Strowman win the WWE Universal Championship belt. Now, we may have our answer, as it is rumored Braun Strowman is in hot water backstage.

Popular But Not Loved By Management?

It is no secret that WWE’s top brass have been keeping Braun Strowman down lately. Despite being ‘over’ with the WWE Universe, there is something stopping management putting Braun Strowman on the top of the pile.

According to The Daily Star, Braun Strowman is encountering “major heat” backstage. Wrestling reporter Mike Johnson from PWInsider said something similar, with Mike stating four different sources of his have stated Braun Strowman is in trouble backstage.

Mike Johnson’s sources have plenty to say about the Beast Among Men. According to them, Strowman has a reputation for arriving at events late and even leaving events early. If this is the case, it would explain why the WWE refuses to crown Braun Strowman or give him a more permanent position.

“They would be high on him and just when he gets to the point where you would think the next step is putting him into the centerpiece position for the company [then] something happens and he makes some sort of misstep backstage and people within management kind of cool on him and they take a step back.” – Mike Johnson

Even if this is accurate, Strowman is undoubtedly over with the Universe and there is no hiding that. If his behavior problems are indeed true, they could consider a trial run and see how he fares. If he cannot take that responsibility, there are many other people that could be built as the main guy including Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Drew McIntyre.

Dave Meltzer Has Another Theory

Despite the various media channels reporting on backstage problems with Strowman, Dave Meltzer has another theory about Strowman. According to Meltzer, Strowman has severe problems with his knees, stating he looked visibly uncomfortable as he was chasing Baron Corbin on Monday Night Raw.

Both Theories Seem a Little Out There

I have to be honest. Both theories seem so unlikely to me. Strowman seems dedicated to his craft and is always nice to fans when he is out and about. That’s far from the man described in the rumors as someone who cannot wait to leave the arena and is always late.

Problems with Braun’s knees could certainly be a possibility, but if his knees are as bad as Meltzer claims, surely Braun would be deemed medically unfit for the wrestling ring? Whatever the reasons for the WWE not pushing Strowman as expected, I do not think we will find out until a couple of years down the line.
