A new WWE rumor suggests that the ongoing storyline between Xavier Woods and his New Day brother Kofi Kingston may not be headed in the direction many fans expect.
Over the last decade, the New Day has built a legendary resume. They have been multi-time tag champions. But the group featuring Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E is one of the most beloved factions ever. Their blend of humor and wrestling talent has guaranteed all three will be in the WWE Hall-of-Fame one day.

However, the faction was forever changed when former WWE Champion Big E broke his neck while taking a suplex during a March 2022 edition of Smackdown. Since then the remaining members have seemingly lost relevancy on the roster. But over the last couple of months, an intriguing storyline has pushed them back to the forefront of episodes of WWE Raw.
After Karrion Kross got into the ear of Woods during the summer, he seems to be heading in a more sinister direction. Based on wrestling history, it just seems like a final breakup of the legendary New Day is on the horizon. But, a new rumor suggests that may not be the case.
Is a Big E return the endgame of current Xavier Woods and New Day storyline?
On Thursday night, X wrestling account WRKD Wrestling reported “There are potential plans that Xavier Woods teased heel turn angle culminates in Big E reuniting the New Day, should E get cleared.” The account does not have a huge following so the rumor should be taken with a huge grain of salt.
However, Wrestle Purists reporter Ibou seemed to confirm the news by stating “cats out of the bag” in an X repost of a September report that the Xavier Woods and New Day storyline “is not going to go in the conventional and obvious wrestling directions.”
Last month, Big E revealed he is set to have more tests on his neck in the coming months. And if the results are positive there is a real possibility that he could return.
