New Report Confirms The Exact Date Of The Rock’s WWE Return, And It’s Very Soon

Since his surprise appearance at WWE Bad Blood in October, fans have been wondering when The Rock will make his return to WWE television. A new report confirms that date.

WWE is on an absolute role of late. Over the last year, the company has continued to break records for attendance, views, and merchandise sales. A huge part of that has been a far more consistent, sensible, and entertaining creative process than what fans suffered when founder Vince McMahon was still running the company.

However, creative can only be successful with good talent. And the WWE roster is as good as it has ever been as it mixes rising stars with veterans in their prime and the occasional appearance from a legend. One WWE great who made a huge impact in 2024 was The Rock. He made his return to the ring at WrestleMania 40 and a couple of appearances since.

There has been a lot of speculation about how and when he will be used in 2025. Well, we may not know the how for next year but it seems we know the first when, in regards to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appearing on WWE TV.

In a new edition of the Backstage PAss Q&A, WrestleVotes claimed that an image of The Rock on a production in the background of a segment during WWE Raw this week was no coincidence, and it’s probably a hint at his impending return.

“They don’t do that type of thing by accident. They never do and they’re not going to start,” he claimed. “And that’s what I’ll say about that. There was a purpose for that. And as far as I know, he’s expected to be there, whether that says he’s working WrestleMania or not.

“That’s a different ball game. I do know on January 6, there are people within the WWE that expect The Rock to be there.”

The company has put a huge amount of effort into Monday Night Raw’s first show on Netflix on January 6. Three massive matchups have already been announced — Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa, CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins, and Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley. Several legends have been rumored for the event. The Rock seems to be the first confirmation of a surprise appearance.
