The brothers never did wrestle in WWE, but the Briscoes nearly debuted alongside the Wyatt Family.

Serious fans of wrestling knew of Mark and Jay Briscoe. The brothers dominated tag team wrestling on the independent scene for a very long time. But they’ve never worked in WWE. And, due to Jay’s untimely death in an auto accident, they never will get that chance. But before his brother’s death, Mark and Jay did have some time in AEW and ROH. While his brother is gone, Mark Briscoe has forged his own path-he is currently the top champion in Ring of Honor.
But what a debut it could have been
In speaking with Fightful, Mark reveals how we came close to seeing the Briscoes debut on RAW alongside the Wyatt Family. As in, the original group-Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. That debut, which would have happened in 2013, would bave been even more craziness. Unfortunately, Jay’s loud personality seemingly worked against them at the time. Jay had previously made insensitive remarks, which seemed to be a roadblock. While he did apologize for his past remarks multiple times, those things do have a way of haunting you. And, unfortunately, Jay passed away in 2023, so there won’t ever be a Briscoe Brothers battle in WWE.

I’d be curious to hear more about this big miss. 2013 could have been awesome, and WWE did try to sign the brothers again a couple years after. At that second attempt, ROH offered more money (and this was pre-AEW). Now we have lost Jay Briscoe, along with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. What could have been in 2013 now can never be at all. Mark is doing well for himself as a singles competitor, though I don’t know if there would be interest in him from WWE. Or, for that matter, if Mark would consider WWE either.
