The Rock changed the entire trajectory of the road to WrestleMania 41. Many had expected the “Final Boss” to miss the event this year after earlier reports hinting towards the same. But he made his surprising return last month and went straight after his former rival, Cody Rhodes. He offered him a lucrative deal to become his champion.
However, “The American Nightmare” refused to sell his soul to him at the 2025 Elimination Chamber event. That led to The Rock signaling John Cena, and he took out Rhodes and shockingly turned heel. Moreover, the rivalry continued on RAW in Belgium, where Cena and Rhodes met face-to-face.

Despite The Rock playing a major role in turning John Cena to the dark side, he was not at all referenced during the segment. This led to a recent report suggesting he may not be a lock for April’s mega-event.
Could The Rock miss WrestleMania 41?
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the John Cena and Cody Rhodes face-off on RAW. They highlighted the fact that The Rock was completely left out of it and his WrestleMania 41 role may be up in the air.
“You know, they didn’t mention hardly at all? I don’t think they’ve mentioned him at all,” Meltzer stated. When Alvarez asked “Who’s that?”, Meltzer said, “Dwayne.”
While Alvarez brushed off the discussion initially, Meltzer insisted that something was off in leaving The Rock out of the promo. “Well, there’s more to it than meets the eye, apparently,” said Meltzer. Moreover, he refused to reveal any information he had regarding the subject.
“I don’t know more that’s going on. I was actually just told it’s what you think, and I don’t even know. I asked. I said, like, it’s what you think,” he said.
In the end, Dave Meltzer ended the discussion by saying, “And they said that even if you say it, they’re gonna all deny everyone in the company will deny it. So it’s, it’s something, but I don’t know exactly what.”
