Could the legendary rivalry between John Cena and Randy Orton be restarted for the former’s retirement tour?
Cena shocked the world by embracing the dark side at the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber. The Cenation Leader won the Men’s Elimination Chamber before turning heel at the Premium Live Event. He will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 41 later this month.
However, apart from his Mania plans, Cena might have his eyes set toward the future and planted the seeds for a feud later this year with a familiar face.
Does John Cena want to revisit Randy Orton feud?
As the WWE Universe is well aware, John Cena likes to post cryptic content on his official Instagram handle. He once again took to his Instagram today to post a photo of his iconic rival, Randy Orton. It sparked huge speculation regarding a final Cena vs. Orton mega match at some point on his farewell tour.
WWE’s next PLE after WrestleMania 41, WWE Backlash, takes place in Randy Orton’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. This could be the perfect spot for this blockbuster showdown to take place. Orton is currently a babyface, and he is bound to be heavily cheered in his hometown at Backlash, while Cena is expected to be booed out of the building.
This would also be the first time Orton is the babyface while Cena is a heel. The pair were, arguably, each other’s greatest rivals during the peak of their careers in the 2010s.
