After months away from the company, a new rumor suggests Jimmy Uso’s return to WWE Smackdown could be imminent.
It has been a very long time since WWE fans last saw Jimmy Uso. Following the fall of the Roman Empire in April at Wrestlemania 40, a shocking event occurred on the episode of Smackdown the following week. To the surprise of the wrestling fans, Solo Sikoa brutally attacked his brother. Unofficially ending his membership in the Bloodline.
It was a moment that set a path for Sikoa to take control of the faction and install new members Tanga Loa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu. The storyline has been one of the focuses of Smackdown since then and even led to the triumphant return of Roman Reigns at last month’s Summerslam.
However, while Reigns got the upper hand in August, the numbers game caught up with him two weeks ago and he was attacked and left lying by Sikoa’s Bloodline. He clearly needs backup and there have been rumblings for months that Jimmy Uso could be a part of a new Bloodline faction led by Reigns.
Jimmy Uso could return at ‘any moment’ says his father Rikishi
Well, the next stages of that storyline could be on the horizon, according to Uso’s father Rikishi.
“Jimmy’s doing fine. I think at any given moment Jimmy will be ready to come back to be able to do what he loves,” Rikishi said during a new edition of his “Rikishi Off the Top” podcast. “I’m sure he misses the fans and I’m sure you all miss Jimmy. He’s doing great. He’s got some time to be able to rest the body, rest the mind, and he’s ready to go, so, hopefully, we’re able to see Jimmy soon.”
This follows comments from his brother Jey Uso last month that he expected Jimmy Uso to be back on WWE television soon. Next week’s edition of Smackdown will be the first in a new deal with the USA Network. Sikoa will be in the main event competing for the WWE Title against Cody Rhodes.
WWE likes to have big surprises for major events, and it seems like the perfect time for Uso to make his return and spoil Sikoa’s chance of winning the belt. Just like Reigns did at Summerslam.
