A new report claims Jade Cargill, one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Champions, has a legitimate injury that will sideline her for months.
This has been a very productive year for former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill. When she signed with WWE late last year, she was presented as a highly coveted free agent who was listening to offers from all three of the brands under the company’s umbrella.

Eventually, she took her talents to Smackdown, and it wasn’t long before she allied with former WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Since then, the pair have been a duo exclusively and have become two-time tag champions.
The combo has been very beneficial for Cargill as it allowed her to be a mainstay on WWE content and also further develop her skills as a wrestler without the pressure of being a singles performer. She seemed primed for a big finish to 2024 and taking more big steps forward in 2025.
Well, it looks like all her plans will be on hold for at least the next few months and Bianca Belair may soon be stripped of her title.
Jade Cargill could be sidelined for at least the next three months
On this week’s edition of WWE Smackdown, a backstage segment found Cargill left violently beaten up on the hood of a car. Following the assault, WWE claimed the female star had suffered deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, a bruised kidney, a sprained MCL in her right knee, a tibial plateau bone bruise of her right knee, and facial lacerations.
Those are all storyline-related injuries. However, over the weekend Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported Cargill actually does have a serious injury that could put her on the injured list for a little while.
“We did get confirmation that Cargill is injured. But the severity wasn’t known internally past those involved in creative were told it would be a minimum of three months out,” Meltzer revealed. “Maybe longer, which is why they released the story of such severe injuries.”
This week’s go-home edition of WWE Raw before Survivor Series probably has a set outline. And if anything may focus on who would take Jade Cargill’s place in Saturday’s WarGames match. And Friday’s edition of Smackdown has already been pre-recorded.
It likely means they will wait until after Survivor Series to decide on what happens with the tag titles. They could potentially let Naomi fill Cargill’s spot as Belair’s teammate. However, it seems more likely a tournament to crown new champions is more likely.
